The AVEO Norwest’s retirement precinct site provides an exciting opportunity to develop a range of accommodation for people requiring various levels of care that will integrate into the established infrastructure and development of the Circa precinct.
The proposal is comprised of various communal facilities including a multifunction centre, library, restaurant and cafe, wellness centre and 449 independent living units over 10 buildings of varying heights (4–9 storeys) as well as a 144 bed residential aged care facility.
The master plan aims to reconcile the proposed development model within the site through the provision of a high quality public realm that provides a focal point for social interaction between residents, staff, visitors and the wider community. The proposal aims to deliver a high level of amenity and social sustainability as well as a high level of environmental sustainability, by carefully considering operational strategies, services design and construction methods. The first stage of the development currently represents one of the largest applications of Cross Laminated Timber in Australia (by volume) with all residential components constructed in CLT.
